| Description | The British Parliament created the Marshall Scholarships in 1953 to commemorate the humane ideals and generosity of the Marshall Plan by supporting talented young American who wish to study at any university in the United Kingdom. The program wants to develop leaders who understand and appreciate Britain, to encourage them to be US ambassadors, and to build lasting ties between the two countries. Applicants may come from any academic field, including the sciences, and should have a record of accomplishment and leadership outside the class. At least 40 scholarships are awarded annually. |
