Description The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst or DAAD is the German Academic Exchange Service, an organization funded by the German Government. It runs programs much like the US Government's Fulbright programs to encourage cultural and academic exchange. The DAAD funds a variety of fellowships, such as one for summer language study, but its principal grant funds an academic year of study in Germany for graduating seniors and graduate students in all fields. Due to the special relationship Hopkins has with DAAD, we can select one applicant who is highly favored to receive a grant, in addition to recommending other applicants.
